An established and financially stable UK automotive importer / distributor is looking to appoint a Senior Accounts Assistant to join its close-knit finance team at its UK head office in Swindon.
The business operates in the SUV, 4x4 and pickup market, supplying a nationwide dealer network. About the Role
You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, strong cash controls and smooth day-to-day finance operations.
Key Responsibilities:

End-to-end accounts receivable management, including dealer, fleet and funding receipts, vehicle debtor reconciliations, aged debt reporting and balance confirmations.

Purchase ledger oversight, ensuring accurate processing and timely supplier payments.

Cashbook management, including weekly GBP and EUR bank reconciliations.

Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns

Mentoring and supporting a tenured Accounts Assistant

Month-end support
About You:
This role is well suited to someone who:
- Has solid, hands-on AR, AP, Cashbook & VAT experience
- Enjoys ownership, accuracy and routine.
- Values a positive working environment and long-term security.
- AAT qualification or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Automotive experience is helpful but not essential.
