Accounts Assistant

£28,000 to £35,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Swindon / Hybrid

I am currently recruiting an Accounts Assistant for my client an ambitious SME in Swindon. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will join a friendly team. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys getting involved in all areas of the finance function—from transactional processing through to supporting the month-end close.

About the Job:

Maintain and reconcile sales and purchase ledgers
Process supplier invoices and payments
Perform bank reconciliations
Prepare journals, accruals, and prepayments
Support with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders
Provide support during audits and year-end processes
Carry out ad hoc finance admin and project work as required

About You:

Previous experience in a similar finance role
Strong Excel skills and Xero accounting knowledge is essential
